The Nominating Committee has recommended three candidates to fill three open positions on the Board of Directors of the LitvakSIG. The nominees are: Dorothy Leivers, Howard Margol, Ann Rabinowitz. They have provided statements about their qualifications, which have been posted on the Members Only website, www.litvaksig.com

The election will take place by email ballot between July 21 and July 31, 2009. LitvakSIG Members in good standing (those who paid $36 dues for 2009) will receive an email ballot, which they must return by July 31 at midnight Eastern Daylight Time, to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it so you receive your electronic ballot. Members may vote in person instead at the LitvakSIG annual meeting at the IAJGS Conference on Jewish Genealogy in Philadelphia on August 5th. The By Laws require that a quorum of at least 10% of the members must vote. Directors are elected who receive a plurality of the votes cast. Each Member may vote for three candidates.

Please review the statements of each of the candidates before casting your vote. All Members will receive a ballot on July 21, 2009. New Members may still join and vote in the election. The Treasurer must receive your online payment or check by July 18, 2009 in order to vote by electronic (email) ballot. Please don't wait until the last moment to pay your dues if you would like to vote in this year's election. New Members who join after July 18th may only vote at the August 5th meeting in Philadelphia. If you would like to join the LitvakSIG in order to participate in this election, and to support the ongoing work of the LitvakSIG, annual dues are $36.00 and they can be paid online by going to join / contribute.
